I also create unique home décor and miscellaneous items, such as barn quilts, bucket hats and keychains. That’s sew sustainable! Speaking of sustainability, another trend I've been glad to see on the rise is eco-friendly quilting. Whether that’s using up scraps from your stash rather than buying a new fabric collection for every project, or upcycling used clothes into gorgeous quilts to save them from the landfill, every little bit helps to be less wasteful and to create with intention. I set up Gingerberry Quilts because I wanted to be able to share my creativity and passion for quilting with others. I am committed to creating quilts that exceed the expectations of my customers, but also utilize the three R's of sustainability. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle are part of the waste hierarchy which is a process used to protect the environment and conserve resources through a priority approach. The aim is to get the most practical benefits from products and to generate the minimum amount of waste. To do this, I repurpose fabrics from thrifted projects, I use low to no waste patterns and I recycle fabric scraps for small projects such as puffy pet beds. From start to finish, quilts and sewing projects in my studio are filled with love! I enjoy all aspects of quilting and sewing and strive to improve on every single project! I started sewing when I was young but only started quilting in 2020. It was love at first sight! I have now moved into quilt pattern design and enjoy that as well!
